If you’re familiar with Solid Apollo’s DMX (Digital Multiplex) control systems and have already mastered all of their functions, grab on to your seat or something to balance yourself as I unveil a new tool that will blow you away!
What if I told you that there is a tool that can communicate with your existing DMX systems which would allow you to get more data and control functionality from your LED fixtures and systems?
Solid Apollo is proud to introduce a new built-in tool for our DMX512 systems: the RDM system, which stands for Remote Device Management. You may be asking yourself: what exactly is RDM, why is it useful and where can I get one?
RDM is a digital communication network that communicates with the DMX512 system. An RDM-enabled DMX controller becomes a bi-directional system that gives you more information about your fixtures than a standard DMX512, where the data would only go in one direction.
The bi-directional system helps shed more light on the performance of your LED fixtures and installations. You can monitor sensors, fixture temperature, energy usage, identify faults, set & reset DMX addresses, and find any specific diagnostic information you may need.
The DMX/RDM Controller is perfect for long distance fixtures as you don’t have to physically be with the fixture when examining performance issues.
Solid Apollo LED has added 2 DMX controllers with RDM functionality: the ProAv 5 Channel DMX & RDM to RGBWA Decoder and ProAv 12 Channel DMX & RDM to RGBW Decoder.
Each of Solid Apollo LED’s DMX with RDM controllers offer exciting features! Please check them out to see how they can help you get the most out of your next lighting project or installation.
